Homeschool CARE Foundation
Board of Directors
Chair & Founder
Angela is the Founder and President of the Homeschool CARE Foundation and has served on the board and planning committee since its inception in 2018. She serves as the Senior Administrator for HomeLife Academy as well. After working with HLA for nearly 10 years and homeschooling her own children for over 20 years, she saw a need beyond “school” to reach people on a personal level. Her own family has struggled with some of the issues that can impact a family’s success, and her desire for the Homeschool CARE Foundation has been to provide mental health, special needs, and financial support for hurting families.
Kimberly is the Treasurer and Director of Program Development of the Homeschool CARE Foundation and has served on the board since February 2019. She is also the Financial Operations Manager for HomeLife Academy. She previously served as Board Treasurer for American Heritage Girls Troop TN0139, which was her introduction to the world of homeschooling families. Kimberly has a passion to see family units become strong and successful because she believes they are the building blocks of society with an exponential impact on the future. Her desire for the Homeschool CARE Foundation is to provide hope and help families overcome unique challenges.
Secretary & Board Member | Special Needs
Darlene has been a board member since the inception of HCF. She and her husband live in Jackson, Tennessee. She has been a lifelong homeschooler and HLA family. Darlene has 3 children, Katie, Russell, and Gabe. Her heart for special needs families goes deep as she herself has been blessed with a special needs child. She has played a big role in developing and laying a foundation for our Special Needs Program and serving as board secretary since 2018.
Board Member | Giving
Toni is on the board for Homeschool CARE Foundation, specifically focused on providing financial assistance for homeschool families. She has worked at HomeLife Academy for 15 years and currently serves as the billing manager. She homeschooled her own children for 15 years and understands the financial struggles many homeschooling families face due to living on one income. This experience inspired her to help other homeschooling families with financial support through Homeschool CARE Foundation.
Board Member | Ministry
John and his family have been homeschooling for over 15 years, and believe in the power and reward of healthy spiritual formation at home. John has been in ministry and missions in the USA and South Africa for over two decades, and currently owns and operates his own coffee business, J. Brooks Coffee. He is proud to serve families through HCF, as a partner with donors all over the world.
Board Member | Counseling
Josh serves on the board of the Homeschool CARE Foundation. He also works in the community as a therapist at LifeWorks Resources and Union University offering professional counseling from a biblical perspective. In addition to nearly a decade in the field of mental health, for the past 20 years he has also served in various non-profit ministry positions including pastoring. His primary ministry however is his wife Katie and their 5 homeschooled children. He is excited to help the Homeschool CARE Foundation in their work to serve the mental, emotional, and spiritual needs of families seeking to raise their children in a broken world.
